Global Toyota Camry recall: 655,000 cars affected by startup display glitch that can mute safety cues
Toyota is recalling about 655,000 Camrys worldwide due to a startup display glitch that can blank the 7-inch instrument display, potentially disabling turn signals, hazard lights, seat-belt reminders and key-in-ignition buzzers. Dealers will install a free software update, with owner notices starting Sept. 21 and completion by early October. The recall covers model year 2025–2026 Camry Hybrids produced Dec 2023–Jul 2026 at plants in the U.S., Japan and Thailand, with most affected cars in the U.S.
