B.J. Penn Cleared as Mentally Fit to Stand Trial in Hawaii Domestic-Violence Case
Doctors have ruled UFC Hall of Famer B.J. Penn mentally fit to stand trial in a Hawaii domestic-violence case, where he faces assault and restraining-order charges from his mother. Penn has claimed imposters replaced relatives, and his attorney plans to file a motion to dismiss; he was arrested multiple times in 2025 for actions against his mother and mail theft, skipped a fitness exam, and is due back in court July 8. His last UFC fight was in 2019.
