Apple will lock iPhones financed through Verizon or T-Mobile to the respective carrier until they’re paid off, ending the prior unlocked loophole. iPhones bought outright or via Apple Card installments stay unlocked. The policy change may not be fully visible yet in checkout, and AT&T devices have long been carrier-locked.
