Padres' Casey Mize injures ankle in bizarre dugout slip
Padres pitcher Casey Mize sprained his right ankle after slipping on a dugout step during his start against the Twins, exiting in the third inning after 3 2/3 frames in which he allowed four runs on four hits with three strikeouts. Since being traded from Detroit, he has a 7.00 ERA over four starts, and San Diego hopes the injury is minor and he can return soon as they chase a playoff spot.
