Nationwide 'Cat in the Hat' TikTok Trend Sparks School Threats and Arrests
A viral TikTok trend known as 'Cat in the Hat' has prompted law enforcement investigations and arrests across multiple US states. In Hutchinson, Kansas, a 15-year-old student faces criminal threat charges for creating a local account. Meanwhile, Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, and Robertson County, Tennessee, reported soft lockdowns and targeted posts listing students' names and addresses. Authorities emphasize that these posts, often using AI-generated images, are part of a nationwide pattern causing fear and disrupting schools.
