The film adaptation of Kristen Roupenian's viral short story "Cat Person" effectively captures the delicate and horrifying dance of modern courtship, but it falls short by overexplaining and telegraphing its ideas. While the movie adds padding to the narrative and leans into full-blown horror, it ultimately avoids casting either protagonist as a villain.
