Texas Senate Candidate Talarico Faces Theological and Political Scrutiny in Abortion Debate
Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico faced intense questioning on abortion and faith during an October 14 town hall, where he argued for a public health approach to reducing abortions while facing theological challenges from Catholic voters. The debate highlighted deep divisions within the Catholic community regarding the 'at all cost' protection of unborn life versus the principle of double effect. Talarico’s campaign is also navigating a competitive race against Republican Ken Paxton amid disinformation campaigns and significant financial disparities.
