Downtown St. Louis Interstates Closed After Massive Cave-In

Downtown St. Louis is seeing closures of eastbound I-70 and I-44 after a 20-inch water main break caused a 30-foot-diameter, 15-foot-deep cave under Broadway and Biddle near the Dome at America's Center. Crews are shutting valves to isolate the break; water continues to flow and traffic is being rerouted via the Poplar Street Bridge. The site is more challenging than expected, with some customers potentially losing service as repairs continue.
