Art Garfunkel Weighs Exile Over Trump’s Venezuela Actions
84-year-old musician Art Garfunkel has stated he is considering leaving the United States due to his opposition to President Donald Trump’s policies, specifically citing the military capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. In an interview with The Guardian, Garfunkel expressed deep concern over climate change and international affairs, stating he does not recognize America’s current role in the world. While Fox News frames this as part of a broader trend of celebrities relocating abroad, Democratic strategist Kaivan Shroff argues Garfunkel’s comments reflect genuine political alienation rather than a literal intent to move. The remarks add to a growing list of high-profile figures, including Rosie O’Donnell and Ellen DeGeneres, who have relocated or threatened to leave the US in response to the current administration.
