Volkswagen has integrated OpenAI's ChatGPT into its "IDA" voice assistant, allowing drivers to access researched content and control various car systems. The AI technology will provide additional information and expand its capabilities in the future. The feature does not require additional installations or user accounts and prioritizes data protection. Volkswagen's partnership with Cerence Inc. marks the first time a volume manufacturer has made an AI chatbot a standard feature in its compact cars.
