Boseman Estate Legal Battle: Parents Challenge Widow Over Assets
A California petition filed July 17 by Chadwick Boseman’s brothers on behalf of his parents accuses widow Simone Ledward Boseman of withholding distributions and mismanaging assets tied to the actor’s rights. Boseman died in 2020 without a will, and roughly $3.8 million in assets—cash, retirement accounts, a long-term care policy, and the company Chadwick Boseman Inc. that holds the actor’s name and works—are at stake. Ledward allegedly exercises unilateral control, coordinating contracts and business deals without proper board oversight, while the family is shut out and seeks her removal as administrator and a full accounting of all transactions since 2020.
