Dallas Investor Sentenced to 15 Years for $40M 'We Buy Ugly Houses' Fraud
Charles Carrier, a 67-year-old former Dallas real estate executive, was sentenced to 188 months in federal prison for orchestrating a multimillion-dollar investment fraud. He used the 'We Buy Ugly Houses' brand to defraud over 80 investors of nearly $40 million between 2018 and 2024. Carrier was ordered to pay approximately $24.4 million in restitution.
