SDSU chooses developer for affordable housing at Mission Valley campus.
San Diego State University has selected Chelsea Investment Corp. to build 182 income-restricted apartments at its Mission Valley campus. The seven-story building will feature units reserved for families making between 30% and 60% of the area median income, with construction expected to begin in 2025. The project also includes a child care facility and the potential for an additional 109 subsidized residential units in a second phase. SDSU purchased the Mission Valley site in 2020 and is required to set aside 10% of total residential units for low-income families making 60% or less of the area median income.
