Labour MP Joani Reid suspends whip amid husband’s China spying probe
Labour MP Joani Reid has voluntarily suspended herself from the Labour whip while an internal investigation continues after her husband, David Taylor, was arrested on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence service in connection with alleged China spying; Reid says she is not under police investigation, will sit as an independent during the probe, and is cooperating with Labour. Taylor was arrested in London and released on bail; Reid and Taylor have been administratively suspended by Labour.
