China Rejects U.S. Request for Defense Chiefs Meeting
China has rejected the Pentagon's invitation for a meeting between US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and China's defense minister Li Shangfu at the Shangri-La Dialogue security forum in Singapore in June. This is the latest sign of the difficulties the two countries are having in stabilizing their turbulent relationship.
