Meta's Twitter Rival: What You Need to Know.
Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is set to launch a new standalone app called Project 92, which is a response to Twitter. The app will be launched through Instagram and will allow users to take their accounts and followers with them to other apps that support ActivityPub. The app's public name could be Threads. Meta's chief product officer, Chris Cox, said the company's goal for the app was "safety, ease of use, reliability" and making sure that creators have a "stable place to build and grow their audiences." Elon Musk reacted to Meta's plans to launch Project 92, tweeting "Zuck my tongue."
