Laguna Beach 5-year-old swept into sea found near Christmas Cove after coast‑guard search
The body of 5-year-old Amada Mia Brown, who was swept into the ocean during a swell in Laguna Beach, was found about 250–300 yards offshore near Christmas Cove during an aerial survey on June 11. A 24-hour search by Orange County lifeguards, Harbor Patrol, the U.S. Coast Guard and drones followed the June 9 incident; two bystanders rescued the mother and a sibling, who were hospitalized and later released. The Treasure Island Beach area is known for strong rip currents.
