CI Games and Hexworks have delayed Lords of the Fallen II from fall 2026 to Q1 2027 to refine with feedback; it will release on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam/Epic Games Store.

CI Games funded a sponsored video by TheBackgroundNPC to push Lords of the Fallen 2’s revealing female armor, a move critics view as pandering to misogynistic fans; the studio quickly defended itself by promising modest outfits too, while critics argue the marketing underscored superficial design choices rather than substantive gameplay.

CI Games has approved a capital raise that could be used to buy Epic’s PC exclusivity for Lords of the Fallen 2, and the CEO’s activity on social media has sparked speculation of a Steam (and possibly GOG) release, suggesting the game may launch on Steam day one or after a timed Epic exclusive.

Polish video game developer and publisher CI Games has laid off 10% of its staff, affecting employees from various departments including Lords of the Fallen developer Hexworks and Sniper Ghost Warrior studio Underdog. The company stated that the decision was tough but necessary to preserve business strength and stability, and further business optimizations are being made. This comes amidst a trend of layoffs in the video game industry, with Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive also reportedly affected by cuts.

CI Games has laid off 10% of its workforce, affecting the marketing team, Hexworks, and Underdog studios. The company stated that the redundancies were necessary to preserve business strength and stability, with further optimizations being made to the organization's pipelines and processes. Last year, CI Games revealed that its upcoming project, Lords of the Fallen, was its most expensive to date, with the game selling over one million copies within ten days.

Lords of the Fallen, the new action-RPG from Hexworks and CI Games, has sold 1 million copies in just 10 days across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Despite initial criticism for performance issues, frequent updates have improved the game since its release. CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski sees this success as the first step in their planned AAA pipeline of games.

Lords of the Fallen, the upcoming sequel and reboot of the series, will not be available on Xbox Game Pass on its release date, and there is no information on whether it will be added to the service in the future. Players will need to decide whether to purchase the standard or deluxe edition of the game.
