"Netherlands Implements Phone Ban to Curb School Disruptions"
The Dutch government has announced a ban on mobile phones and other devices in classrooms, in collaboration with schools, to prevent disruptions to learning. The ban, which will take effect from next year, will have exceptions for students with medical needs or disabilities, as well as classes focused on digital skills. Although not legally enforceable at present, the ban may become so in the future. The decision follows similar moves by Finland, England, and France to restrict phone use in schools. The effectiveness of the ban will be reviewed in 2025 to determine if a legal ban is necessary.
