The IRS has updated its clean vehicle tax credit rules, making more electric vehicles eligible for incentives of up to $7,500. The Volkswagen ID.4, Rivian R1T and R1S, and the forthcoming Chevrolet Blazer EV are among the models that now qualify for the full tax credit. The domestic content requirement for battery packs has caused some previously qualifying vehicles to lose their eligibility. Leased EVs and plug-in hybrids are exempt from the domestic sourcing requirements.
