German mountaineer Wolfgang Waschiczek, 57, died after falling approximately 1,700 meters from Camp III on Ama Dablam in Nepal. He had successfully reached the 6,812-meter summit the previous day but went missing during his descent. His body was recovered by helicopter and transported to Kathmandu for a post-mortem.
