Clooneys Evacuate French Home as Wildfire Rages in the South
George and Amal Clooney evacuated their Brignoles home in southern France as wildfires swept the region. In a letter to the Brignoles mayor they said they don’t know if their house will survive but pledged to help repair the village and remain part of the community. Evacuations were ordered for some neighborhoods, but residents began returning by Thursday as weather remained challenging; the wider European wildfire crisis includes a major Gironde blaze in France and fires in Greece and Crete. The couple moved to France in 2021 and became French citizens in December 2025 to raise their children there.
