Ukraine's largest nuclear plant shuts down last reactor amid flood recovery and fighting.
The last operating reactor at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, has been put into a “cold shutdown” due to flooding caused by the collapse of a nearby dam and shelling near the site. Five out of six reactors are already in a state of cold shutdown. The Ukrainian nuclear agency, Energoatom, said there was “no direct threat” to the plant. Ukrainian officials reported at least four deaths and damage to a military airfield as Russian forces continued to attack the country with missiles and drones.
