The New Museum in New York City is hosting an exhibition of over 100 works by Kenyan-born artist Wangechi Mutu, titled "Intertwined." The exhibition features Mutu's signature hybrid creatures, which are part human and part plant, as well as her collage series "Histology of Different Classes of Uterine Tumors" and pottery-like renderings of viruses. The exhibition explores themes of transmutation, sexuality, and the marginalization of female patients. Mutu splits her time between studios in Brooklyn and Nairobi.
