Astros Designate Salazar, Thomas; Promote Price and Sign Wade Jr.
The Houston Astros designated catcher César Salazar and outfielder Rhylan Thomas for assignment as they sign first baseman/outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr., select catcher Collin Price to the major league roster, and reinstate outfielder Joey Loperfido (optioning Zach Cole). Salazar and Thomas are expected to pass through waivers, Price has MLB and minor league options and could see more playing time if Yainer Diaz returns from the IL.
