Iran Bolsters Air Force with Russian Combat Trainer Jets
Iran has received a batch of advanced Russian combat trainer jets, the Yak-130, to enhance the training and combat capability of its air force. The arrival of these aircraft is part of Iran's arms contracts with Russia, despite both countries being under international sanctions. Iran has been accused of supplying weapons to Russia for use in the conflict with Ukraine, and the United States has noted Iran's expanding defense partnership with Russia. Iran currently operates mostly Russian and Chinese fighter jets, along with some American aircraft.
