Nia DaCosta to Direct Amazon’s Sex Criminals Series, Exec-Produces
Amazon Prime Video has hired Nia DaCosta to direct the first two episodes and exec-produce the eight-episode adaptation Sex Criminals, based on Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky’s Image Comics series; Imogen Poots stars as Suze, a normal girl who can stop time when she has sex, paired with John Reynolds as Jon. DaCosta, known for Candyman and The Marvels, will work with showrunners Emily V. Gordon, Kumail Nanjiani, and Tze Chu, plus producers Dani Melia, Dani Gorin, Fraction, Zdarsky, and Louie Hayes of LuckyChap. The project was announced ahead of Amazon’s upfronts.
