Two Foreigners Die in Suspected Electrocution at Bengaluru Hotel Pool
Two foreign nationals died and two others were injured after a suspected electrical leak in the swimming pool of the Conrad Bengaluru hotel on October 30. The victims were Alexander Maximilian Theiss, a 57-year-old German Lufthansa crew member, and Juraj Horvat, a 45-year-old Slovak IBM project manager. An American guest and an Indian pool attendant were injured while attempting a rescue. All four were transported to Manipal Hospital, where the two survivors are reported to be stable. Police are investigating the incident, with preliminary focus on the pool's underwater lighting and earthing systems. The hotel has closed the pool for maintenance until November 30, though it is unclear if this closure is directly related to the incident.
