Malkin stays 'hungry' at 40, leaves door open for 22nd NHL season
Evgeni Malkin is entering his 21st season with the Pittsburgh Penguins but has not ruled out playing beyond 2026-27. The 40-year-old forward signed a one-year, $5.5 million deal in May to avoid unrestricted free agency. During training camp in Cranberry, Pa., Malkin stated he remains 'hungry' and loves the game, but emphasized he will only continue if his body feels 100% and he can contribute to winning. He praised the increased Russian presence on the roster and expressed confidence in his chemistry with linemate Egor Chinakhov.
