Palatine man arrested after rifle jam foils plot to attack Aurora Hindu temple
Alexandros Paporakis, a 19-year-old from Palatine, was arrested after police recovered a modified AR-style rifle, 300 rounds of ammunition, and a white supremacist manifesto from his home. Authorities allege he attempted to shoot at a Hindu temple in Aurora on Sunday but fled after his weapon jammed. A coworker reported the incident after Paporakis sent messages detailing his failed attempt and intent to retry. Paporakis faces felony charges for making a terrorist threat and unlawful weapon possession, with a judge ordering him detained without bond.
