Thermos recalls 8.2 million containers over stopper hazard
Thermos is recalling about 8.2 million food jars and beverage bottles nationwide because a stopper can eject when opened after long storage, posing risk of lacerations and, in some cases, permanent vision loss. The recall covers Stainless King Food Jars SK3000 (16 oz) and SK3020 (24 oz) and Sportsman Food & Beverage Bottles SK3010 (40 oz), sold from 2008 to July 2024 at Target, Walmart, Amazon and Thermos.com. Thermos has 27 injury reports, including 3 with permanent vision loss. Consumers should stop using the containers immediately and contact Thermos for a free replacement pressure-relief stopper or bottle. For SK3000/3020, discard the stopper and email a photo of the disposed stopper; for SK3010, return the bottle with a prepaid label.
