Kent thanks longtime advocate Russo after Hall of Fame induction
Jeff Kent was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame by the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee, and he publicly thanked Chris “Mad Dog” Russo for years of advocacy that helped raise his profile. Russo had long pushed for Kent on his shows, ranking him among the sport’s top second basemen, and Kent acknowledged Russo after appearing on MLB Network’s MLB Now, stressing that Russo’s support—though not the sole reason for induction—meant a lot to him.
