MW4 vows authenticity and transparency in a grounded Call of Duty reboot
Activision and Infinity Ward promise Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be a grounded, transparent shooter with authentic cosmetics and collaborations, launching October 23, 2026 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. It will feature three main modes (campaign, multiplayer, and DMZ) and major multiplayer changes, including new movement, specialized attachments, and a revised bullet-trajectory system that removes random bloom. After acknowledging past partnerships drift, the team pledges no Lady Gaga, Omni-Man, Teletubbies, or SpongeBob, and invites players to “keep the receipts” as they stay true to the Modern Warfare identity.
