"U.S. Military Enhances Counter-Drone Training to Combat Threats"
The U.S. Army is incorporating counter-drone training into its basic boot camp to equip soldiers at all levels with the skills to identify and counter small drone threats. The Army plans to provide units with devices to take down drones and is rewriting doctrine to include counter-drone training. Additionally, the Army has opened the Joint Counter Small Unmanned Aerial Systems University and is working to revise strategy with U.S. Special Operations Command. As the air threat from small drones increases, air defense battalions will integrate into divisions, and handheld gear will be issued to smaller units. However, the Army acknowledges the need to increase air defense capacity to meet demand.
