
Broncos Legend Craig Morton, Super Bowl Pioneer, Dies at 83
Craig Morton, the Denver Broncos quarterback who piloted the team to its first Super Bowl appearance and earned AFC Offensive Player of the Year in 1977 after a 12-2 season, has died at age 83. A longtime NFL veteran, Morton spent six seasons with Denver (1977–1982), leading them to two division titles and three playoff berths, and finished his Broncos era with a franchise-record 11,895 passing yards. He previously starred for the Cowboys and later played for the Giants before wrapping up his career with 27,908 passing yards and 183 touchdowns in 207 games.
