
Ex-South Carolina Officer Repatriated From China to Face Murder and Child-Sex Charges
A former Charleston Police Department officer, Dan Hiers Jr., has been returned from China to face murder and criminal sexual conduct with a minor charges in South Carolina stemming from the 2005 killing of his wife, Ludimila Hiers. After more than 20 years on the run and a spot on the U.S. Marshals’ 15 Most Wanted list, his extradition concluded an international pursuit, with no immediate schedule for his first court appearance in Dorchester County.
