Norway’s Crown Princess’s Son Convicted of Rape, Sentenced to Four Years
A Norwegian court found Marius Borg Høiby, the eldest son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, guilty of rape and domestic-violence-related charges, including 34 counts overall with two rape charges. The verdict covers alleged rapes between 2018 and 2024, and he was ordered to serve a four-year prison sentence plus about 640,000 kroner in punitive damages to four victims. Høiby, who is not in the line of succession, had previously admitted to some lesser counts and apologized for an assault alleged during an ex-girlfriend dispute as the case unfolded and more victims came forward.
