"Millimeter-wave sensing used to study ultra-light dark matter"
Researchers at Kyoto University have developed an experimental method for examining ultra-light dark matter using millimeter-wave sensing in cryogenic conditions. The team used a dedicated millimeter-wave receiver cooled to -270 ℃ to suppress thermal noise to accommodate weak conversion photons. Although they did not find any significant signal in this dataset, the team's experiments with unprecedentedly stringent constraints opened up possibilities for investigating dark matter.
