
Two custodians killed in Chicago elementary school shooting, investigation underway
Two custodians—a 48-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man—were fatally shot at Mark Twain Elementary in Chicago and later died at Christ Hospital after being transported in critical condition. Police recovered a weapon; motive and whether the victims knew each other are unknown. The shooting happened around 3:40 p.m. while the school was not in session, and students are set to return Aug. 24.
