Tara Flour Linked to Daily Harvest Outbreak.

Researchers from the University of Mississippi have found that tara flour, a component of Daily Harvest French Lentil & Leek crumbles, was the likely cause of an outbreak that sickened hundreds of people across 39 states in 2022. The researchers discovered that a nonprotein amino acid called baikiain, present in high levels in tara flour, was responsible for the illnesses. The outbreak investigators were initially stumped by the illnesses traced to the Daily Harvest crumbles, but the new study appears to resolve the mystery behind the Daily Harvest illnesses.
