Diamondbacks land Lars Nootbaar to bolster lineup vs right-handed pitching
Arizona acquired outfielder Lars Nootbaar from the Cardinals for pitching prospects Daniel Eagen and Sandro Santana plus a player to be named later, and cleared 40-man space by moving Zac Gallen to the 60-day IL. Nootbaar, 28, is a lefty with elite on-base skills and strong platoon splits, expected to boost Arizona’s performance versus right-handed pitching as it pursues an NL Wild Card spot.
