McMaster opens removal process for Charleston County School Board member amid IG probe
Governor Henry McMaster has begun a process to remove Charleston County School Board member Darlene Roberson. An executive order filed Sept. 1 gives Roberson until Sept. 14 to submit a written response to charges including misconduct and conflicts of interest connected to her consulting work and a vendor linked to her former campaign manager. A three‑person hearing panel will review the Inspector General’s findings, which were referred to FBI, SLED and the DOR, and issue a recommendation by Oct. 5 after a hearing (set for late September).
