Beau Greaves breaks barriers with historic PDC ranking title in tight 8-7 win
Beau Greaves became the first woman to win a PDC ranking title by defeating Michael Smith 8-7 in the Milton Keynes Players Championship 11 final, sealing victory with a 142 checkout in the deciding leg after a run that included beating Rob Cross and Gary Anderson. She also notched a 170 checkout in leg nine and finished with about 80% checkout efficiency and a 96.49 average. The 22-year-old's year has featured a 114-match win streak on the PDC Women’s Series and the first nine-dart finish on the PDC ProTour. Other notable results included Luke Humphries’ third-round exit to Max Hopp, with several top players absent as the tour hosts 34 events ahead of a Minehead final in late November; Greaves sits fifth in the order of merit.
