Kelce's 'Redskins' Slip Sparks Booth Bet and Fan Debate
Former NFL center Jason Kelce accidentally referred to the Washington Commanders as the 'Redskins' during an NFL Network broadcast on October 4, 2026. The slip occurred during a game against the Indianapolis Colts. Kelce immediately apologized, but play-by-play announcer Dave Pasch revealed that the three analysts had placed a wager on who would use the old name first. The incident has reignited debate over the team's name change, with some fans arguing the original nickname should be restored.
