Hanks Revives 'SNL' Pumpkins Character to Mock Trump’s Midterm Panic
Tom Hanks returned to 'Saturday Night Live' as his 2016 creation, David S. Pumpkins, in a Halloween cold open that satirized President Donald Trump’s erratic campaign rhetoric. The sketch, hosted by Inde Navarrette, featured James Austin Johnson as Trump interrupting an amusement park ride to lament poor midterm polling and mock his own fixation on male physiques. The segment also included Saidah Belo-Osagie as Nicki Minaj and Veronika Slowikowska as former press secretary Katie Zacharia, highlighting the chaotic state of the White House communications team.
