Valheim 1.0 Arrives After Five-Year EA, Bringing Deep North and Cross-Platform Launch
Valheim officially exits Steam Early Access with a full 1.0 launch after five years, adding the Deep North biome with rideable moose, new enemies, and underground tunnels; introducing Frost Foundry crafting, new weapons (Nord axes, greatswords, bows, shields, Frostfire crossbow), a new dungeon, boss cinematics, and 50+ new achievements, plus optimizations for smoother movement and faster saves. The update enables cross‑play across Windows, Linux, macOS, Xbox, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2, with more updates planned but no large-scale expansions like Ashlands on the near horizon.
