Memps charges dropped for Poplar Avenue drink vendor after brief arrest
Demarcus Dickerson, a local vendor known for selling drinks at the intersection of Poplar Avenue and East Parkway North, was arrested by Memphis police on October 6, 2026. Officers initially cited safety concerns regarding his presence in the roadway. Although he was charged with obstruction, the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office dropped the charges on October 7, stating that prosecution was not warranted based on the facts.
