Trump frames Butler attack as Democratic plot, offers no evidence
Trump claimed the 2024 Butler, Pa. assassination attempt was a 'Democratic Plot' to derail the election, offering no evidence. FBI Director Kash Patel testified there were no connections between the shooter and others, noting the suspect largely spoke only to his parents. DoJ officials said the new information Trump referenced came from FBI documents provided to a Senate inquiry; media reports about aliases and cremation circulated but ABC News has not independently verified them.
