Schools Nationwide Adjust Schedules in Response to Hot Weather
Fifteen Denver Public Schools campuses will dismiss classes early due to high temperatures, as the city experiences a potential record high of 100 degrees. Only 24 out of 55 schools in need have received or are in line for new cooling mechanisms, leaving 31 schools without air conditioning. The district plans to prioritize these schools for cooling upgrades based on factors such as poverty levels, special education needs, and building use, once funding becomes available.
