Diana Taverner Seizes Control in Slow Horses Season 6
Season 6 of Slow Horses finally elevates Diana Taverner to MI5’s top post, with Kristin Scott Thomas delivering a warmer, more likable yet still morally gray portrayal as she wields power and triggers a season of mayhem. The storyline centers on her rise and the fallout it causes for Slough House’s misfit spies, including tense moments like a coerced on‑air appearance, while the director notes that “all of the death, all of the destruction” stem from her decisions. The arc emphasizes leadership under gender and power dynamics, and the season draws on Mick Herron’s Slough House/Joe Country material while shaping Taverner in a way that makes her both formidable and oddly sympathetic.
